Thelma Burnette (Stanback) Bowser

Mrs. Thelma Burnette Stanback Bowser, 87 of Brooklyn, NY formerly of Mount Gilead, NC (Wadeville Community) died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.  Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Clark's Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 594 NC HWY 109 S. ( Wadeville Community) Mount Gilead, NC 27306. Visitation will be held 1pm to 2pm prior to the service, with burial in the Bruton Cemetery.

Thelma was a Montgomery County native, a former member of Clark's Grove and a graduate of Peabody High School and St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing in Raleigh, NC,  before moving to New York.  She was a Registered Nurse and a seamstress before retiring.

She was the daughter of the late Pete and Maggie Little Stanback and was  preceded in death by her siblings, Raymond and Samuel, Hazel, Mildred, Peggy Jean, Arniece, Clarahstein, Joyce and Florence.  She was also preceded in  death by her beloved  husband,  Benjamin Bowser.

Those left to cherish and to honor her memory, one sister, Judith Stanback Bennett of Rochester, NY; a special niece and nephew, Margaret Carter Fredrick of High Point, NC and Bobby (Rebecca) Stanback of Brooklyn, NY, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.  Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC  is in charge of all arrangements.
