Thelma Renee' Stanback

Miss Thelma Renee' Stanback, 59 of Durham, NC died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 in Raleigh, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 3pm  Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Clark's Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 594 NC HWY 109 S., Mount Gilead, NC 27306 with body to lie in state from 2pm to 3pm prior to the service. burial to follow in the Bruton Cemetery in Mount Gilead, NC.

Born Sunday, May 2, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late Clarahstein Abedna Scales.  Renee' graduated from Page High School in Greensboro, NC in 1972 and recieved a BA in psychology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1976. Renee' went on to receive a Masters in Library and information Sciences from North Carolina Centeral University in Durham, NC and she was employed by Duke Medical Center for over 27 years.

She was very active menber in her community in Durham, NC and was very involved in several community organizations.  Renee' was the pillar in her family and was instrumental in the success of many  Stanback Family Reunions and she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

She leaves to chersih fond and loving memories to her brother; Winifred Marecheau of Raleigh, NC a very special cousin, Siobhan "Vonnie" Johnson of Greensboro, NC one aunt;  Judith Bennett of Rochester, NY and a host of other relatives nad friends.  Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC is in charge of aarangements.
