Mr. Thomas Levander Chambers, Sr., 66 of Wingate, NC died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC. Funeral Service will be held 1pm Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 5003 Gilledge School Rd., Marshville, NC 28103, Reverend J.N. Coble, Pastor, Eulogist, Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in the Church Cemtery. Public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Monday, April 15, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monroe.
Born in Union County, Sunday, May 26, 1946 a son of the late McLean and Athalene Crowder Chambers, a 1965 graduate of East Union High School, US Marine Corps Veteran during the Vietnam era and retired Truck driver. Mr. Chambers was also a Member of the Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Marshville, NC were he served as an Ordained Deacon.
He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to his wife; Jaunita Crowder Chambers of the home; one daughter P. Denise Brantley of Kings Mountain, NC; one son; Thomas L. Chambers, Jr., (Keonta). four grandchildren; Antionette Howard of Charlotte, NC, Trenton L. Chambers of Wingate, NC, Dorian P. Brantley of Kings Mountain, NC and Tristan K. Chambers of Wingate, NC; two great-grands; one god sister; Leola Sowell of Lancaster, SC;three aunts; Marjell Carter of Monroe, NC; Mary Elizabeth Houston and Willie Lou Crowder both of Wingate, NC; two sisters in law; Gladys Staton and Oneater Crowder both of Wingate, NC; two brothers in law; Harvey Lee Crowder of Wingate, NC and Melvin Crowder, (Edith) of Marshville, NC; special cousin like a brother; Blair Samuel Chambers of FT. Washington, MD; special freind like a brother; Fulton Crowder and a host of neices, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
