Thomas Lee Hill, Sr.

MR. THOMAS LEE HILL, SR., 61 of CANDOR, NC , (Dry Creek Community), passed away Monday, October 17, 2016, at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Greenlake Congregational Church, 4927 Pekin Rd., Pekin Community, Candor, NC 27229. Elder William Ben Townsend, Eulogist.  Interment will follow in the Dry Creek United Church of Christ Church Cemetery, Dry Creek Community, Candor, NC.

A pubic veiwing will be held 12:00pm to 7:00 pm Friday, October 21, 2016, at Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.

Tom, as he was fondly called by everyone,  was born to Mrs. Jennie Mae Baldwin Hill and the late Mr. Jesse Hill, Sr., in Montgomery  County, NC, on  Sunday, March 6, 1955.

Tom was a member of Greenlake Congregational Church and attended East Montgomery High School in Biscoe. He would help anyone who needed help  He was employed by Russ Knits in Candor for many years.

Tom was united in holy  matrimony to Miss. Vanessa I. Armstrong and to this union two children were born, Tonya and Thomas, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, Frederick Hill and Johnnie "Boy" Hill, a sister, Cynthia Hill Little,   a niece, Sonya Hill and a nephew Benji Hill.  He will be sorely missed.

Those left to cherish and to honor his memory is his devoted wife, Vanessa; his two devoted children, Tonya Hill(Jarvis Ellerbe) of Norman, NC and Thomas Lee Hill, Jr.(Crystal) of West End, NC; his devoted mother, Mrs. Jennie Mae Hill of Candor, NC; 4 brothers, Jesse Hill, Jr., of Pinehurst, NC, Ivory Hill of Candor, NC, Robert Hill (Tonnette) of Sanford, NC and Antonio Hill (Bridgett) of Candor, NC; 6 sisters, Earnestine Hill Cameron (James) and Gracie Hill, all of Greensboro, NC, Selma Hill, Mary and Martha Hill, all of Candor, NC and Daphne DeBerry (Toby Horne) of Asheboro, NC; 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; one uncle, Harvey Hill (Emma) of Wadeville, NC; two aunts, Josephine Baldwin and Inez Marshall, both of Candor, NC; mother-in-law, Elmer Armstrong of Candor, NC; brother-in-law, Richard Little of Mount Gilead, NC; sister-in-laws, Teresa Jean Armstrong; Sheila McBride Hill;  best friend, Curtis Bennett (Gail) of Candor, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
