Thomas Benton Williams

MR. THOMAS BENTON WILLIAMS, 78 of MONROE, NC, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at CHS-Union on Monroe, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00pm Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at the Flint Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, 5720 Flint Ridge Church Road, Marshville, NC, 28103.  Reverend Richard Graham, Pastor,  will be the Eulogist. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC.

A public viewing will be held 1:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, November 21, 2016  at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Born Tuesday, November 30, 1937 in Monroe, NC, he was a son of the late Leroy and Lossie Mae Williams.  Thomas was a retiree of the  US Postal Service in New York, NY, where he worked for 39 years. He was a member of the Flint Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Marshville, NC and was a Prince Hall Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sharon Williams; three brothers, Willie L. Williams, Robert L. Williams and Ramon Williams; two sisters, Addie Stewart and Estelle Griffin.

He leaves to cherish him a loving wife of 55 years Katie Lee McGee Williams of the home; one daughter, Diane Williams of Monroe, NC; one brother; Marvin Williams (Daisy) of Detroit, MI; one sister; Earlie Crumpe of Brooklyn, NY; six sisters-in-law, Helen Staton of Capital Heights, MD, Carolyn Jackson of Brooklyn, NY, Barbara Johnson of Pageland, SC, Julia Ainsworth (Bill) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Willie Johnson of Irvington, NJ, Delphenia Rorie (James) of Marshville, NC; two brothers-in-law,  M.C.McGee and Leroy McGee (Eunice), all of Marshville, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
