MR. THOMAS CLAYTON "T.C." MUNGO, 80 of MONROE, NC passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Mungo was a retired Store Clerk for Belk's Department Store in Monroe, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 501 P.E. Bazemore Dr., Monroe, NC.  Reverend Larry W. Leake, Pastor,  Eulogist.

A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC. Lieu of flowers family request Memorials be made to: Winchester Alumni, PO Box 1515, Monroe, NC 28111 or Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.

T.C., as he was fondly called by everyone, was a son of the late Frank Mungo and Annie Mae Leak, was born on Thursday, April 27, 1939, in Union County, Monroe, NC.

T.C.  was married to his loving wife, Amy Ingram Mungo for 58 years.  To this union four children were born.

He graduated from  Winchester High School in 1958.  He went on to work at several jobs, but he retired from Belks Department Store in Monroe, NC, with 23 years of dedicated service.

TC was a lover of sports with the New England Patriots, LA Lakers and Duke Basketball as his favorites.  He was also a lover of golf and Tiger Woods was his favorite.

Many may not have known this, but TC was a coach and a DJ in his younger years.  He coached Basketball, Flag Football and Softball.  As a DJ, he had a slogan that he loved to say, "DJ tick tack, trying to get back".

TC was a long time member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where he sang on the Men's Choir and with the Jubilettes.  He really loved singing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

To celebrate his life and to cherish his memories are his wife, Amy Mungo; three sons, William Mungo (Fiance' Rosalyn), Eric Mungo (Phyllis) and Reginald Mungo (Shaun); one daughter, Rhonda Mungo; one special grandson, whom he raised, Brandon Mungo; two special nieces, Trudy Davis (Eric) and Amy St. Victor of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, James and Joe Mungo (Vivian); 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
