Toneca Janeirea ("Lady Bug") Mcbride

MISS TONECA JANEIREA "Lady Bug"  McBRIDE, 34 of TROY, NC passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro, NC.   Funeral Services will be held 2pm Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the West Montgomery High School Auditorium, 147 Warrior Rd., Mount Gilead, NC 27306. Interment will be in the Green Lake Congregational Church Cemetery in Candor, NC.  Repast will follow in the Green Lake Church Fellowship Hall.  A public viewing will be held 12 noon to 7pm Monday, July 20, 2015 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.

"Lady Bug", as she was fondly called by everyone, transitioned peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2015, 9 days shy of her 35th birthday.

She was born on Friday, July 25, 1980, in Montgomery County, NC, to Elder Carmel Lorraine McBride Peeples and the late Robert Lee Knight.

She attended the public schools of Montgomery County and received her high school education from Brittain Academy.

Toneca joined Green Lake Congregational Church at an early age and remained faithful until relocating.  She then began attending Rose of Sharon Holiness Church, Troy, NC., where she remained faithful in attending Sunday School, Bible Study, and prayer services.  She also attended Troy Chapel AME Zion Church, when her health permitted.

Toneca enjoyed life to the fullest and she was a people person.  She was employed as a CNA1 at Firsthealth Montgomery in Troy, NC, until her health began to fail.  She never met any strangers, and she often said that,  " everybody is somebody" and she never disrespected anyone.

" Lady Bug " , Toneca leaves to cherish loving and precious memories to her three loving sons, Cortez L. Chappell, Jaden L. Chappell and Dashawn A. Chappell, all of the home;  her loving mother, Elder Carmel Lorraine Peeples of the home;  seven brothers, Paulomeke McBride and Ivory Chappell, both of Wilmington, NC, Shaun Peeples of Charlotte, NC, Bryant Knight, Tyrone Steele, and Robert Earl Steele, all of Mt. Gilead, NC, Rory Knight of California; three sisters, Cheri Peeples of Charlotte, NC, Corliss Knight  and LaKeisha Shepherd (Kelvin), all of Mt. Gilead, NC;  maternal grandparents,  Mr. Jessie and Mrs. Shirley McBride, of Candor, NC; Godmother, Mrs. Jennie Mae Hill of Candor, NC;  two God daughters,  Kim Horne and Tajanae Smith;  one aunt, Sheila Hill of Troy, NC; two uncles, Rickey L. McBride of Charlotte, NC and Jessie C. McBride, of  Candor, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great aunts and uncles, other relatives and dear friends.
