Vernell (Thomas) Marshall

MRS. VERNELL THOMAS MARSHALL, 69 of ALBEMARLE, NC passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019  at the Glen Kiser Hospice Center in Salisbury, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Resurrection Community Church, 1325 E. Main St., Albemarle, NC 28001. Visitation will be held 11:30 am to 12:00 pm prior to the service at the Church.

Interment will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle, NC.

A public viewing will be held 1:00pm to 7:00 pm Friday, March 1, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home and Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC, whom is serving the Marshall, Thomas and extended families.

This journey for Vernell Rosetta Thomas Marshall on October 29, 1949, in Montgomery County.  She was the daughter of the late Browdis, Sr., and Mamie Lee Thomas.  On Wednesday morning, February 26, 2019, she departed this earthly life to receive her crown in Heaven.

Over the years, Vernell faithfully served in many areas of ministry,  She was an usher, choir member, and intercessor.  She served as Church Administrator at Victory Deliverance Center.  At Love and Faith Christian Fellowship, she faithfully served as a member of the finance team.  Vernell was a faithful member of the Ladies of the Light, a community of dedicated women that share the love of Christ.  Vernell was united in Holy Matrimony ton  Bernest Marshall on September 21, 1974 and to this union was they were blessed with three children.

Those left to cherish and to honor her memory are her husband, Bernest; her three children, Kenneth (Nya) Thomas of Albemarle, NC, Brian Marshall and fiance' Ashley and Shannon Deberry of Troy, NC; four sisters,  Barbara Moore of Mt. Gilead, NC, Joyce (Thomas) Brooks of Fayetteville, NC, Deborah (Harold) Wynn of Chesapeak, VA and Eureka (Leon) Medley of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, Browdis Thomas, Jr., of Miami, Fl,. and Pastor Michael Thomas (Michelle) of Greensboro, NC; two aunts, one uncle, ten grandchildren, five-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
