Wendy Sabrenia (Covington) Mclendon

Mrs. Wendy Sabrenia Covington Mclendon, 47 of Monroe, NC died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 1pm Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Central United Methodist Church, 801 S. Hayne St., Monroe, NC 28112, Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Friday at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Born in Union County, NC, Monday, September 27, 1965 to Katherine Beatrice "Peaches" Walker Smith and the late Curtis Andrew Covington, also preceeding her in death were two sisters Tressie Walker and Dureshema Walker.  She was a member of the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church of Monroe, NC and an employee of the Union County Public School System.  Sabrenia was an avid University of North Carolina at  Chapel Hill, Tar Heel sports fan along with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories her husband; Russell T. McLendon of the home; two daughters; Tressie D. McLendon and Tomacina R.S. McLendon both of the home; her mother;  Katherine Beatrice "Peaches" Walker Smith of the home; four sisters; Cheryl Redmon and Shirley Stewart both of Monroe, NC, April Hammond of Harrisburg, NC and Brenda Bumbray of Fort Washington, MD; three brothers Andrew Covington of Philadelphia, PA , Andrien Covington and Andra Covington both of Waxhaw, NC; Mother-in law; Ruby H. McLendon of Waxhaw, NC;  three aunts; Merit Hook of New Jersey, Ailene Covington of Charlotte, NC and Jeanette Covington of Midland, NC; seven uncles; Jessie Covington of Staton Island, NY, Michael Walker (Jeanette), Larry Walker, Ronnie Walker, Tony Walker and Mark Walker all of Monroe, NC; best friends Debbie Boggan and Lori Elms; several nieces; two nephews; a host of sisters-in laws, brothers-in-laws, cousins and friends.
