Will Kenneth Nivens

MR. WILL KENNETH NIVENS, 80 of MONROE, NC, died Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center - Union in Monroe, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 3pm Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Flint Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, 534 Flint Ridge Church Rd., Pageland, SC,  29728.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be held 1pm to 7pm Monday, October 6, 2014, at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Born in Chesterfield County, SC,  Saturday, December 20, 1933, and was a son of the late Ore and Jeanette Lockhart Nivens. Will was a member of Flint Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Pageland, SC, where he served as a Trustee and a member of the Senior Choir. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; Lovella Nicholson Nivens;  a son; Charles Thomas Nivens; a sister; Katie Melton; and a brother; Robert Nivens.   He was a retiree of the City of Charlotte Maintenance Department.

He leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to four sons; Curtis Nivens; Tom Nivens (Rose), Wilbert Nivens (Shirley), and  Willie Nivens (Rita);  and one daughter Karen Nivens (Tim),;  three sisters; Sarah Melton, Annie Mae Nivens and Nell Melton.  He was loved and adored by 25 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, a loving aunt, Mrs. Eva Mae Threatt and a dear friend,  Ms. Autry Hamilton; six brothers-in-laws, six sisters-in- laws, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
