William Andrew Carter, Jr.

MR. WILLIAM ANDREW CARTER, JR. 70, of INDIAN TRAIL, NC, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at his home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am  Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Jasper Street Church of Christ, 950 N. Jasper St., Decatur, IL,62521. Interment with full military honors will follow in Macon County Memorial Park, 5700 West Main St., Decatur, IL 62537.

Born Sunday, December 5, 1943 in Davidson County, TN., he was a son of the late William "Bob" Andrew Carter, Sr. and the late Bernice Lavern Simmons Carter. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War Conflict and retired from  A.E. Staley Manufacturing Co. in Decatur, IL.  William also served as the  John C. Ellis Lodge No. 17 as Worshipful Master and St. Mary's Chapter  No. 65,  Order of the Eastern Stars as Past Patron. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Barbara Stanley Carter and sister Vanessa Carter.

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to his daughter; Sarena Johnson (Maxie, Jr.) of Indian Trail, NC, granddaughter Rhakya Johnson and grandson Maxie Johnson, III both of Indian Trail, NC, sister; Patsy Carter Walker and niece Serena Michelle Carter both of Chicago, IL., and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe NC is in charge of local arrangements and Moran & Goebel Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Decatur, IL is in charge of services in Decatur, IL.
