MR. WILLIAM THOMAS "Phil " HORNE , 77 of TROY, NC, passed away Sunday March 1, 2020 in the Autumn Care of Biscoe, NC.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the St. Stephen's United Church of God, 518 South Main St., Troy, NC.
Interment will folllow in the Freeman Hill Cemetery in Troy, NC.
A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Harris Funeral Home and Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC, which is serving the Horne and extended families.
On Sunday, March 1, 2020, around 2:30 p.m., God saw a leaning flower in His garden (Phil) and said " suffer no more, it's time for you to rest frim your labor." Come take thy hand and follow me. Your journey on earth has been fulfilled.
William Thomas (Phil) Horne , was born on Saturday, June 19, 1942, to Lonnie Horne and Hattie Marshall Horne.
Phil , as he was lovingly called by everyone, attended the Peabody High School, Troy, North Carolina.
Phil did odd jobs in the community and was willing to help anyone. He was well known for his rock throwing and hitting his target.
His favorite Bible scripture was " Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." His favorite song was " God has smiled on me, He has set me free", which he graciously the last time he was at St. Stephen's.
He was loved by most and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Phil leaves to cherish loving and fond memoris to his loving siblings, three brothers, Clarence Horne of Jamaica, NY, Robert Horne (Geneva) of New Bern, NC and Overseer Johnnie F. Horne (First Lady Linda) of Troy, NC; four sisters, Dora Lee Horne, Delorise Ratcliff, both of Troy, NC, Hazel Irene McWayne (Freddie) of Asheboro, NC and Gwendolyn Carol Horne (special friend, Spencer) of Maryville, Tenneesee; three aunts, Jessie Keys, Mable Marshall and Constella Marshall; 4 nieces, 14 nephews, and a host of cousins, relatives and dear friends.
