MR. WILLIAM EDWARD "Chill" LITTLE, JR., of MONTGOMERY, AL., formerly of MOUNT GILEAD, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in Montgomery, Alabama.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Mount Airy AME Zion Church, 322 Rosenwald School Road, Mount Gilead, NC 27306. Military Honors and Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A public viewing will be held Friday, November 11, 2016, at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC, 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
"Chill", as he was fondly called, was born in Montgomery County, NC, on August 20, 1956, to William Edward " Bill "Sr., and Gladys McRae Little. He joined Mount Airy AME Zion Church at an early age and attended Rosenwald Elementary School and graduated from Richmond Senior High School. After school, " Chill" joined the U.S. Army in 1978-1981, in which he received an honorable discharge. He was a retiree of Alcoa Works in Texas.
"Chill" was a joker and always made us laugh. He enjoyed cooking and always had a smile on his face. He was a light in our lives that will forever shine.
"Chill" leaves loving memories to his wife, Carolyn Little of the home; three sons, Marcus Jackson, Albemarle, NC, Polynieces " Po Po" Jackson (Kathie) of Charlotte, NC, and Romello Little of Manhattan, NY; two daughters, Tracey Bennett of Charlotte, NC and Christina Hall (Jairus Abnee) of Montgomery, Ala.; his parents, William Sr."Bill" and Gladys Little of Mount Gilead, NC; three brothers, Tony Little (Flora Emerson) of Savannah, GA., Bruce Little and Roger Little, both of Troy, NC; three sisters, Sandra Street of Asheboro, NC, Janice Tyson and Ola Merritt(Isaiah), all of Mount Gilead, NC; Jasmine Turner, Traven McGuine, Marianna Jackson, Lentzi York and Jacovan Williiams; grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild, Bryson; three uncles, Ralph McRae (Elaine) of Laurel, MD., Rev. Curtis McRae(Millie) of Oxford, NC and Kelly McRae (Janie) of Mount Gilead, NC; two aunts, Naomi Roberts of Dale City, VA and Jessie Phillips (Clinton) of Marshville, NC; mother-in-law, Bessie Williams of Montgomery, Ala., four brothers-in-law, Kenneth Williams and Richard Williams, both of East Orange, NJ, Allen Williams and Stanley Williams (Linda) of Montgomery, Ala.,; five sisters-in-law, Julie Austin (Tes Zerihoun) of Chino, CA., Barbara Williams of Rancho Cuco Monga, CA, Betty Williams of Seattle,WA, Jean Chinn (Otis) of Tallahassee, Fl., and Earnestine Feddy of East Orange, NJ; special cousins of the wife, Jan and Ben Austin of Fayetteville, NC; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
" He wished no one a last farewell, or even said goodbye. He had gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. Sincere and kind, in heart and mind what a beautiful memory he left behind. "
