William ("June") Thomas, Jr.

MR. WILLIAM "June" THOMAS, JR., 88 of MONROE, NC, passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Monroe Rehabilitation Center in Monroe, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00pm Friday, December 23, 2016, at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 503 P.E. Bazemore Dr., Monroe, NC 28110.  Reverend Larry W. Leake, Pastor, Eulogist.  Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Monroe, NC.

June as he was called by everyone who knew him, was a son of the late Bright Craig Thomas and William Thomas, Sr.  He was born in Forsyth County, Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Tuesday, January 10, 1928.

He was a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Monroe, NC, where he was a member of the Men's Choir.  He was a dedicated member until his health began to decline.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Frank Thomas, Danny Thomas and Ponce Thomas; also two sisters, Billie Carelock and Dorothy Lee Thomas.

He leaves cherished memories to a sister, Hildred Rasheed of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, many other relartives and friends.  A special thank you to a special niece, Valerie Simpson, for her dedicated and very loving care.
