Willie Mae (Christian) Medley

MRS. WILLIE MAE CHRISTIAN MEDLEY, 96 of MT. GILEAD, NC passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 at her  home.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Leah Richter Levin Auditorium 102 S. School Street, Mt. Gilead, NC, with burial to follow in the St. Stephen's Church Cemetery, Mt. Gilead, NC.

Public viewing will be held Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home and Cremations of Mt. Gilead, NC, 2529 NC Hwy 109 South.

On Saturday, June 4, 2022, God sent an Angel to 105 LeGrande Road, Mt. Gilead, NC, to bring His daughter, Mrs. Willie Mae Medley home.

Born on Thursday, September 5, 1925, in Richmond County, NC, Willie Mae Christian Medley was the daughter of the late Charles and Kizzie Christian. She attended the Montgomery County Schools.

She was a retiree from Russell-Harvell Hosiery Mill.  She was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, not only to her husband, children, but to her church family and so many others.  She was well known in the community.  She was an outstanding cook and would give you her last. She loved everybody!!

In 1946, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Rush Medley, Sr. who preceded her in death.  To this union, five children were born.  She was also preceded in death by one son, Fletcher Howard Medley; great-granddaughter, Jessica Huntley Bennett; three sisters and two brothers.

Willie Mae confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.  Being a virtuous woman of God, she served as a longtime member and faithful Mother of Shiloh Holiness Church , Mt. Gilead, NC.

She left to cherish fond and precious memories to her four children, Rush Medley, Jr.(Georgia) of Wadesboro, NC, Lewis Medley, Sr. (Sandra) of Philadelphia, PA, Kizzie Medley Simmons of the home and Robinette Medley of Troy, NC; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren 19 great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Isabell Medley of New York; a special cousin, Dottie Steele of Ellerbe, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews,cousins, dear friends and her children and grandchildren of her church commununity..
