Winfred C.S. Harris

MR. WINFRED C.S. HARRIS, 73 of TROY, NC passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Winfred was the brother of Mr. Hubert Harris, Sr., owner of Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Services and uncle of John F. Harris, CFSP,  of Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Monroe.  A Memorial Service will be held 11am Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the McAuley Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 2829 NC Hwy 209 South in Mount Gilead, NC.  A public viewing will be held 12noon to 6pm Friday, June 12, 2015, at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.

Winfred Columbus Snyder Harris, " Wimp ", as he was fondly called, was born on October 12, 1941 in Montgomery County, NC, to the late Blair and Leola Greene Harris of the Dry Creek Community, Candor, NC.  He attended the public Schools of Montgomery County and was a logger.

He was preceded in death by his parents;  sister, Maxine McKee; son, Andre Harris;  brother, Raymond McCaskill, granddaughter, Alicia J. Holland; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia D. Harris.

Those left to cherish his memories include his 8 children; one daughter, Donna J. Holland of High Point, NC; seven sons, Winfred Ray Harris of Raleigh, NC,  Danny Harris (Jessie) of Greensboro, NC,  Fredrick Harris, Reginald Harris, Corey Harris(Theresa)  and Vincent Harris (Terri), all of High Point, NC and Jernerrian Mac Harris of Atlanta, GA.; one brother, Hubert Harris, Sr.(Dora) of Mt. Gilead, NC;  two sisters, Peggy Smith and Shirley Townsend, both of High Point, NC; 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins; special friends, Joe Ann Harris, Rufus Collins and Doretha Armstrong; caregiver, Joanne Rush, and a host of other relatives and friends.
